The Social Fund of Kyrgyzstan proposes to raise the retirement age for women. Deputy Head of the Fund Gulnura Zhumataeva announced at parliamentary hearings on reform of the pension system and the draft concept for the development of compulsory medical insurance for 2023-2026.
According to her, the retirement age is not raised yet.
«The world population is getting younger. We do not propose to increase the retirement age, but it would be possible to equalize the retirement age for women and men. For example, in Europe, there is no gender difference, it is 65 years for all. About 70 percent of our pensioners are women. Kazakhstan and Russia are moving towards the equation of the retirement age for women and men. We suggest making a minimum difference between the retirement ages. For example, retirement age of women is 58 years, and men — 63 now. We can make 60 and 63 years,» the Deputy Chairwoman of the Social Fund suggested.
