Criminal case on the fact of corruption during modernization of the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant (HPP) against the ex-Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhantoro Satybaldiev has been reviewed. Own sources informed 24.kg news agency.

Earlier, the former official once again filed a petition to the Supreme Court to review the case due to newly discovered circumstances. The judicial board granted this request and sent the case to the Sverdlovsky District Court of the capital.

«In turn, the Sverdlovsky District Court changed the preventive measure to house arrest for the ex-head of the Cabinet. Later, the court found Zhantoro Satybaldiev guilty under the article «Abuse of official position» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. However, the court did not impose a punishment on the accused due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal liability,» the sources said.

The Bishkek City Court confirmed this information to 24.kg news agency.

Recall, Zhantoro Satybaldiev was convicted in the case on modernization of the capital’s HPP, he was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison.
