Over the year, Kyrgyzstan has made a great progress in programs to support and protect the rights of entrepreneurs. The Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Kurmankul Zulushev announced at a meeting of the Advisory Council for Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs and Investors under the Prosecutor General’s Office.
A number of measures are being taken to prevent and avoid problems such as unreasonable interference in business activities, illegal checks and other obstacles that hinder economic development, he said.
«In order to improve the investment climate in the country, inspections carried out by the prosecution agencies in 2021 revealed facts of illegal checks of entrepreneurs by law enforcement agencies, unjustified pre-trial proceedings, investigative actions, unreasonable measures against entrepreneurs by fiscal authorities. Appropriate prosecutorial response measures have been taken in this regard. In order to prevent the aforementioned violations and resolve systemic problems, it is necessary for all government agencies to shift from a punitive method to a method of preventing violations against entrepreneurs,» Kurmankul Zulushev said.
The Prosecutor General noted that, despite the actions taken, government pressure on entrepreneurs has not yet been completely eliminated.
«We need to fundamentally change our attitude towards entrepreneurs and investors,» he said.
