Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev discussed with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud construction of a Kyrgyz-Saudi Cultural Center in Bishkek. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
The Foreign Affairs Minister of Saudi Arabia arrived in the Kyrgyz Republic for the first time in the history of Kyrgyz-Saudi relations. During his visit, he met with Ruslan Kazakbaev.
Ruslan Kazakbaev emphasized that the Kyrgyz-Saudi political cooperation is characterized by the absence of any disagreements and has recently «gained momentum,» and in this regard invited the Saudi side to bring the bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.
The two sides agreed to work together in a coordinated manner to organize the visit of the President Sadyr Japarov to Saudi Arabia this year.
At the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of the two states stressed the need for:
- Political consultations;
- Regular meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation;
- Kyrgyz-Saudi Business Forum in Bishkek;
- Construction of a Kyrgyz-Saudi Cultural Center in Bishkek;
- Other events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (Days of Culture, a tourism forum, academic conferences and etc.)
As part of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the investment sphere, the sides discussed in detail financing of a housing program of the State Mortgage Company «My Home», which aims to provide the population of Kyrgyzstan with housing through affordable mortgage lending mechanisms.
The head of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kyrgyzstan also asked to consider the possibility of facilitating the procedure for obtaining an electronic tourist visa to Saudi Arabia for citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
