The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan held a working meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to discuss and develop anti-crisis measures.
According to the press service of the government, Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev told about the current economic situation in the country and in the world. He noted that in accordance with the instructions of the country’s leadership, a set of anti-crisis measures was developed to curb economic growth, which was presented to business associations to support the real sector of the economy.
The current economic situation in the region and in the world is monitored on an ongoing basis, as well as recommendations for inclusion in the anti-crisis plan are developed. Consultations were also held with the National Bank on monetary policy.
As the Minister of Economy and Commerce emphasized, it is planned to convert part of the loan portfolio package in order to reduce risks for domestic producers. A number of short-term measures were developed aimed at providing the country’s domestic market with goods and services in order to eliminate the deficit of the main types of goods. The plan includes a number of measures to support domestic producers in finding alternative supply routes, holding of negotiations with the main partner countries on supply issues and a number of budgetary and financial measures aimed at stabilization of the situation.
Akylbek Japarov noted that an increase in the wages of public sector employees is expected in the coming months, as well as the size of some social benefits, which will require an increase of the expenditure part of the budget. He instructed the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to create a working group to analyze and develop anti-crisis measures.
Following the meeting, Akylbek Japarov gave a number of instructions to state bodies, including finalizing the draft law on the state of emergency in the economy, as well as developing a draft law on a «golden passport», which provides for a simplified procedure for obtaining citizenship.
