It is proposed to toughen criminal penalties for violence against children. Deputy Marlen Mamataliev announced at a meeting of Yntymak parliamentary faction.
According to him, it is proposed to toughen the punishment under Articles 154 and 155 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
«We propose to increase the sentence under these articles to 25 years or life imprisonment,» Marlen Mamataliev said.
Articles 154 (violence) and 155 (violent acts of a sexual nature) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic state that the commission of these crimes against a child under the age of 14 is punishable by imprisonment for a period of 15 years or life imprisonment.
