EAEU Heads of Government to discuss agreement on navigation seals

It is planned to discuss an agreement on a mechanism for the traceability of goods imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and implementation of an agreement on the use of navigation seals in the Union to track shipments at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Maksat Mamytkanov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), announced today during a video conference.

According to him, implementation of the agreement on the use of navigational seals should minimize the inspection of cargo and control measures, as well as increase the speed of passage of goods.

«Navigation seals will be applied to goods transported by road and rail. The EEC will determine the list of these goods. This is necessary to reduce risks when moving goods both in mutual trade and in transit. Sanctioned goods will fall under the tracking procedure — goods that affect the receipt of taxes and duties in the EAEU countries. Our main goal is to ensure the uninterrupted movement of goods and minimize the forms of control and risks,» Maksat Mamytkanov said.
