Fires destroyed 36.5 hectares of forest in Kyrgyzstan in 2021. The Forest Service under the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
«Seventeen forest fires covering an area of 36.53 hectares, including 9.45 hectares of forests and 1.15 hectares of forest crops were recorded on the lands of the State Forest Fund,» the statement says.
Material damage from the fires reached 525,000 soms.
The perpetrators were identified in three cases. The damage caused by them amounted to 56,800 soms. Other cases with damages totaling 468,500 soms were handed over to the police for investigation.
The total area of the State Forest Fund of Kyrgyzstan is 2,619,700 hectares, 1,116,600 hectares of which is forest. This is only 5.6 percent of the total territory of the republic.
