6,000 unemployed people registered in Bishkek

At least 6,004 people are registered as unemployed by the Employment Service in Bishkek. The City Department for the Promotion of Employment of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan reported.

«About 48 percent of the unemployed are citizens from 29 to 44 years old, 23 percent are from 16 to 28 years old, 21 percent are from 45 to 54 years old and 8 percent are people aged 54 years and older,» the statement says.

At least 62 percent of the unemployed are women.

It is noted that free vocational training courses were opened for the unemployed in 60 specialties: accounting, foreign languages, interior design skills, computer literacy, smartphone repair, welding and others. Maintenance allowance is paid to students for the duration of their studies.
