In order to ensure public security, joint patrols were organized in Arka-1, Arka-2, Dostuk, Zhashtyk, Maksat, Sada, and Kulundu villages. Law enforcement officials also organized internal patrols in Ak-Sai, Tash-Tumshuk, Orto-Boz, Kok-Terek, Kok-Tash, Samarkandek, Kyzyl-Bel, Dostuk, Kara-Bak, Vorukh, Bakai, Ak-Sai villages.
«Because of the incident on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, some citizens are spreading misinformation via WhatsApp and other social media, aimed at destabilizing the situation in society.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs warns of criminal liability for knowingly making a false report of a crime. The police urge citizens not to spread provocative, false and misleading information in WhatsApp groups,» the ministry informed.
On January 27 at 6.15 p.m., the border guards of Tajikistan blocked a section of Batken — Isfana road in Tort-Kocho area of Batken region. The border units of Kyrgyzstan, deployed on this section of the border in Batken region, switched to an enhanced mode of service. The both sides exchanged fire. The Tajik military used mortars and grenade launchers.
At night, the parties agreed on a complete ceasefire, withdrawal of additional forces and equipment from the border, opening of Batken — Isfana road for traffic and joint patrolling of border areas in order to prevent conflicts.
