The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov will pay a working visit to the People’s Republic of China on February 3-6 at the invitation of the President of China Xi Jinping. The head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Executive Office of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev reported.
According to him, as part of the working visit, the head of state will take part in the opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing and will meet with Xi Jinping. The parties will discuss topical issues of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. During the talks, the results of 30 years of diplomatic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China will be summed up, and prospects for further cooperation will be determined.
«One of the main issues for discussion will be the prospect of building an international railway line China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan. As part of trade and economic cooperation, the Kyrgyz side will raise issues of expanding the throughput capacity of Irkeshtam and Torugart checkpoints and resumption of air traffic between the countries. In addition, the Kyrgyz delegation is ready to discuss issues of investment cooperation, intending to propose a number of projects in the fields of energy, development of deposits, agriculture and education,» Jeenbek Kulubaev reported.
