Sadyr Japarov addresses India - Central Asia online summit

The President of Kyrgyzstan made a welcoming speech at the first India — Central Asia summit that was held in the online format on January 27. Press service of the head of state reported.

Sadyr Japarov noted that India recently celebrated the 73rd Republic Day. On behalf of the people of Kyrgyzstan and on his own behalf, he congratulated the Indian people and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the holiday and drew attention to the fact that the Central Asian states and India will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2022.

«Over these years, through mutual efforts, our countries have built friendly relations, established a strategic partnership and are developing cooperation in political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and security fields. In this regard, Kyrgyzstan supports the initiative of the Indian side to hold India — Central Asia dialogue at the level of heads of state in the anniversary year. I believe that this event will contribute to the further development of mutual and fruitful regional cooperation,» Sadyr Japarov said.

He is confident that this dialogue is a unique opportunity for a frank exchange of views on the state and prospects of interregional cooperation.

At the same time, the head of state stressed that there is a deep political understanding between Kyrgyzstan and India, which allows to develop fruitful cooperation based on traditional friendship and mutual trust.

«Tanks to our joint efforts, we have built mutually beneficial, strategic partnership relations developing in all areas of interest, including in trade and economic, military-defense, cultural, humanitarian and educational spheres. I regret that due to the spread of another wave of the coronavirus pandemic, our first summit has to be held online. I hope that we will meet in a face-to-face format at the next summit,» the president concluded.
