Anna Popova, the Head of the Russian Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare, will arrive in Bishkek tomorrow. The Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told journalists.
He noted that he met with her in December 2020 and then asked for assistance in opening of laboratories in Kyrgyzstan to identify the types of new strains of SARS-CoV-2 circulating on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
«At that time, we signed a memorandum to open the laboratories. They were opened in two locations in Bishkek in May. The Russian side provided laboratories and reagents for free. Starting in May, tests were conducted. In the beginning, the reliability of the tests was 80 percent. The last data was sent in November. I think the results should now show 95-100 percent. The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Yurievna will come with her specialists tomorrow. We will discuss with her the reliability of determining coronavirus variants in our laboratories,» Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told.
