Sadyr Japarov plans to step down, submit documents to CEC tomorrow

Acting President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov will step down tomorrow. The press service of the head of state informed 24.kg news agency.

According to it, Sadyr Japarov will submit a letter of resignation on November 14.

In addition, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers will go to the Central Election Commission tomorrow to submit documents for participation in the presidential elections.

The deadline for accepting applications from candidates for the highest state post in the republic expires at 23.59 on November 14.

The director of Halal Industry Development Center Myktybek Arstanbek, as well as the President of the Union of Kyrgyz Societies of Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries Arslanbek Maliev applied for nomination. Political scientist Bakyt Baketayev withdrew from the race.

Presidential elections will take place on January 10, 2021.
