Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Omurbek Babanov decided not to participate in the early presidential elections. He stated this today.
According to him, the day before he met with the acting head of state, the Prime Minister and discussed with him «very deep topics that are necessary for the development of our country.»
«We all see the difficult political and economic situation in our country. At the same time, we have an opportunity to radically change this situation. We can eliminate all systemic problems, due to which we had riots on October 5! Yesterday I met with Sadyr Nurgozhoevich. We discussed very deep topics openly. I clearly saw the understanding that freedom and democracy are the key values of our country,» Omurbek Babanov explained.
Sadyr Nurgozhoevich will not repeat the mistakes of previous rulers and is ready for cardinal changes.

He noted that during the meeting they also discussed the constitutional reform, which is very important to create a system of checks and balances between the branches of government.
«I made a decision not to run for presidency. I made a decision to support Sadyr Japarov’s candidacy,» he concluded.
