Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Russia denies involvement in sale of airline tickets

The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Russia called information about their involvement in the sale of tickets for Aeroflot flights at inflated prices false. The headquarters for countering the spread of coronavirus infection at the diplomatic mission reported.

«The Embassy provides only the lists of departures, compiled according to the submitted personal applications and petitions of the leaders of the Kyrgyz diaspora according to the following criteria: pregnant women, mothers with children, patients, elderly people, as well as passengers waiting in hostels since March and departing for funeral of close relatives. Airline prices are set and sold by Aeroflot,» the diplomatic mission stressed.

The diplomatic mission added that the cost of tickets is:

Economy class — 13,485 rubles, for children from 2 to 12 years old — 10,523 rubles, up to 2 years — 1,170 rubles;

Business class — 73,860 rubles, from 2 to 12 years — 66,683 rubles, up to 2 years — 7,020 rubles.

(The cost of tickets may vary slightly depending on the current exchange rate).

The Embassy has received more than 4,500 applications for return to homeland. «Unfortunately, it is physically impossible to send all wishing to return overnight, so we ask the Kyrgyzstanis to be patient. The Embassy is taking all possible measures to send compatriots to Kyrgyzstan, including negotiations are underway to reduce the price of air tickets,» the diplomatic mission noted.

The headquarters added it is planned to operate charter flights from the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan weekly in June.
