The first Doctor of Juridical Science of Kyrgyzstan, a well-known scientist Karpek Shamsedinovich Kurmanov, died yesterday at the age of 92.
He stood at the origins of the Kyrgyz legal science, climbed career ladder from an assistant engine driver to a Professor of the Department of Criminal Law of the Kyrgyz State Law Academy.
He participated in the development of many laws of independent Kyrgyzstan.
He was awarded a number of state awards for his contribution to the development of legal science and training of legal personnel, including the country’s highest award — the Order of Manas of the III degree, the honorary title of Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.
