Economy Ministry of Kyrgyzstan tells about customs clearance of vehicles in 2020

Starting from January 1, 2020, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia will set uniform tariffs for customs clearance of vehicles. Statement of the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan says.

Two methods can be used during import of vehicles from third countries: a single customs tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union or the rates, stipulated by the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 107. But the tariffs are higher in the second variant.

“For customs declaration of vehicles at the rates stipulated by the EAEU common customs tariff, individuals must submit documents confirming a foreign trade transaction to a customs authority. This is the identity document of a declarant (passport), sale and purchase contract for vehicle, passport of the vehicle, contract for carriage, insurance contract and documents confirming the country of origin,” the statement says.

“Individuals importing vehicles into the territory of Kyrgyzstan have the right to document imported vehicles at the rates set by the unified customs tariff, if there is a full package of documents that are provided for by the Article 108 of the EAEU Customs Code. To mitigate the consequences of increased import customs duty rates, the possibility of reducing the VAT rate (value added tax) is being considered in Kyrgyzstan. The same opportunity of reduction of VAT is being considered in the Republic of Armenia,” the Ministry of Economy told.
