Child suicide rate decreased in Kyrgyzstan in 2018. Prosecutor General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov told at a meeting of the Parliament.
Deputies hear the report of the head of the supervisory body on the state of law in Kyrgyzstan for 2018 and the work of the prosecutor’s office.
According to Otkurbek Dzhamshitov, 88 cases of juvenile suicide were registered during the reporting period, while 97 children committed suicide in 2017.
«In 2018, at least 54 suicides of boys and 34 of girls were registered. We regularly deliver lectures on the prevention of suicides and infant mortality. Work in this direction is ongoing. The prosecutor’s offices control the death of each teenager, each fact is carefully analyzed,» Otkurbek Dzhamshitov told.
