Agreement on changing conditions of deployment of Kant Russian military airbase in Kyrgyzstan provides for a land rent increase. Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated March 23, 2019 says.
The document notes that the annual rent for use by the Russian side of the land plots and water area is equivalent to $ 4,794 million. Earlier, the land rent was $ 4.5 million. Thus, it turns out that the payment was increased by $ 291,000.
Recall, there are several military facilities of Russia in Kyrgyzstan. The largest is the airbase in Kant. In 2012, all the facilities were merged into one military airbase. It includes an airfield in Kant town, a naval base in Issyk-Kul region, a seismological center in Mailuu-Suu and a communications center in Chaldovar village.
