Staff of the State Penitentiary Service of Kyrgyzstan was put on alert until a special order. Press service of the state agency reported.
«Combat alert has been announced in connection with the situation in the border areas of Batken region and in order to ensure public safety, law and order, prevent accidents and maintain a stable operational situation in the units of the State Penitentiary Service. A fire inspection of the state of the institutions will be organized, search and anti-digging measures will be strengthened, and work on crime prevention among the special contingent will be strengthened,» the State Penitentiary Service reported.
A conflict occurred in Ak-Sai village of Batken region on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border on March 13-14. According to preliminary data, citizens of Tajikistan wanted to prevent construction of Ak-Sai — Tamdyk road. Victims from both states were reported.
