Kyrgyzstani took the 1st place at the international tournament of Central Asia in athletics. Athletics Federation of Uzbekistan reported.
The tournament was held on March 2-3 in Tashkent. Athletes from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan at the age not exceeding 17 years participated in it.
Kyrgyzstan was represented by 11 athletes. They won a gold and a silver and four bronze medals. Nikita Optov, who became the best in long jump, achieved the highest result among young men. Adenat Sarybagyshev became the third at a distance of 800 meters. Cholpon Tazabekova finished as the second among the girls in 3,000 meters race, and the third — at a distance of 1,500 meters. Sabina Batadzhieva took two third places — in the long jump and triple jump.
«An important event for the participants was arrival of the double Olympic champion Elena Isinbayeva at the ceremony,» the federation noted.
Kyrgyzstanis won 9 medals at the same tournament in 2018.
