About 30 planes and helicopters redeployed from Russia to Kyrgyzstan

About 30 planes and helicopters have been redeployed from Russia to Kyrgyzstan to conduct Issyk-Kul-Antiterror 2018 military exercises. TASS reported with reference to the press service of the Central Military District of Russia.

About 30 aircrafts and helicopters are deployed at two military airfields in Kyrgyzstan. Bombing and assault aircrafts are located at Kant military airfield, and army aviation — at Cholpon-Ata airfield.

«During rehearsal of practical actions, Su-24 aircrafts will work out bombing of a command post of a conventional enemy, Su-25 attack aircrafts will work out a missile strike at the column of armored vehicles of the enemy,» the press service said.

Earlier it was reported that crews of Mi-24 attack helicopters and Mi-8 transport-combat helicopters would be involved in the exercises. A total of about 1,000 servicemen take part in the drills from the Russian side — these are mountain motorized infantry from the Republic of Tuva.

Issyk-Kul-Antiterror 2018 exercises will take place in the territory of the educational center Edelweiss in Kyrgyzstan. Iskander-M missile systems have already been delivered to the republic. The joint grouping of troops with the support of aviation will work out the issues of combating illegal armed formations, anti-terrorist protection of the most important facilities, as well as the elements of a police operation in the highlands.
