20 tons of onions, 300 kg of dried fruits banned from entry into Russia

Inspectors of Rosselkhoznadzor Department for Novosibirsk Oblast detained 10 batches of quarantineable products from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan weighing 161.1 tons at phytosanitary control post Karasuk. The official website of Rosselkhoznadzor reported.

According to it, the goods were transported by road from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for further sale in Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Barnaul, Chita and Abakan. It was found out that 41 tons of Kazakhstani watermelons and 21.3 tons of Kyrgyz onions were transported with an invalid phytosanitary certificate. In addition, 300 kg of Kyrgyz dried fruits were tried to import without any certificate confirming the phytosanitary safety of the products.

In accordance with the requirements of the quarantine legislation, the import of all the products into Russia was banned. All cargoes have been returned to the senders.
