Export of fish and milk from Kyrgyzstan to Russia to resume after inspection

The head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergey Dankvert, and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan, Samat Nasirdinov, held talks in Moscow. Press service of Rosselkhoznadzor reported.

The meeting took place as a continuation of interdepartmental consultations between the two countries regarding systemic gaps in state veterinary control, epizootic monitoring of animal diseases and laboratory work of the competent authorities of Kyrgyzstan.

As a result of Rosselkhoznadzor inspections, the formal approach of veterinary specialists of Kyrgyzstan to the inclusion of local enterprises in the register of suppliers to EAEU countries and to the state control over their shipments of products to Russia was confirmed.

«During the inspection of dairy companies, the results of monitoring tests for leukemia, paratuberculosis and contagious pleuropneumonia were not provided; there were no documents confirming the effectiveness of vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease. The enterprises did not have information about the drugs used on farms. Thus, production control programs were drawn up formally,» the statement says.

In a number of cases, Kyrgyzstan’s producers were unable to confirm the origin of raw milk stored at the factory without labeling.

This also applies to the results of the inspection of fish producers in Kyrgyzstan. Among other things, it was found out that raw materials were transported across the territory of the republic without accompanying veterinary certificates. The fish came to the enterprises without documents in barrels, there was no marking.

Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert noted the importance of building a modern system of veterinary control in Kyrgyzstan and introducing digital technologies for product traceability. He believes that this will become a guarantee of product safety and quality for trading partners, including Russia. An example for the development of this area can be the many years of experience of Rosselkhoznadzor in the development and introduction of digital technologies in supervisory activities.

Given the availability of all basic types of food, Russia is ready to purchase foreign products only if the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation and the EAEU are complied with. The service is working to keep the Russian market properly balanced and competitive, therefore it allows import of only authentic, safe and high-quality products.

Return of fish and dairy producers of Kyrgyzstan to the Russian market is possible only after the inspection by Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergey Dankvert said.

In the near future, representatives of the competent authorities intend to agree on a video inspection of two Kyrgyz fish processing companies, after which the list may be expanded by dairy enterprises.

The parties agreed that Kyrgyzstan’s specialists will update the list of exporters of livestock products and establish targeted control over the shipment of products from the Kyrgyz Republic to Russia.
