First joint film of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to be released in December

The first joint film of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan Delbirim will be released in December 2018, by the birthday of Chingiz Aitmatov. The film producer Parizat Dzhakypbekova informed 24.kg news agency.

According to her, almost half of the film, timed to the 90th anniversary of the national writer, has already been shot.

«We have finished the work in Namangan. The creative team was given time to have a rest, in about a week we will resume shooting. We will shoot in Issyk-Kul region or in Tashkent,» Parizat Dzhakypbekova said.

The script of Delbirim was written on the basis of the story by Chingiz Aitmatov «My Little Poplar in a Red Scarf.»

The preliminary budget of the film is estimated at $ 200,000.

«We had negotiated with Uzbekkino for a year and a half ago. They proposed to shoot Delbirim in honor of Aitmatov’s jubilee. The script was written by Kyrgyz playwright Kerez Zarlykova and Uzbek film director Sardar Karimov. The cost of shooting in Uzbekistan is completely taken over by Uzbekkino, including the fees of their actors. We take over the work in Kyrgyzstan and salaries of our actors. We really hope that our government will also provide some support,» the producer of the film said.

Kyrgyz actors Elina Abay kyzy and Madina Talipbek play female parts in the film, and the Uzbek film stars Adiz Radzhabov and Ulugbek Kadyrov will perform the men’s parts.
