«Issyk-Kul Lake is one of the cleanest in the world,» the director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry, Abdykalyk Rustamov, told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, barges have not gone and petroleum products have not been transported on the lake since the collapse of the Soviet Union, so they do not pollute the lake.
«We take water samples three times a year for tests — before, during and after the holiday season. In addition, the project of the Finnish Environment Institute has been working there, jointly (including with Kyrgyzhydromet) we are monitoring the entire water area of the lake,» the head of the state agency said.
Some samples were sent for research to Finland. Specialists concluded: we have one of the most beautiful and cleanest lakes in the world.

«Over the period of 2016-2017, the chemical composition and quality of water did not undergo significant changes. In total, during this time, specialists have made 1,225 tests. The quality of water meets all the norms and requirements of our legislation. The next study will be held in early June, mainly on the northern shore. In addition, we will monitor the entire water area of the lake together with the Finns,» he added.
Earlier, some Ekosoyuz stated about an increased level of pollution of Issyk-Kul lake. The information does not indicate when, where and who conducted the research.
«I do not know why this is reported. We are the ecologists, the state agency owns several laboratories in the Kyrgyz Republic that meet international standards,» Abdykalyk Rustamov stressed.
