Waiting list for hemodialysis growing in Kyrgyzstan

Waiting list for hemodialysis of 90 patients formed in Kyrgyzstan again. Press center of the Ministry of Health reported.

According to it, the queue for hemodialysis ended at the end of 2017, but on February 2 it formed again.

Every day the list grows by 4-5 people. Because of the high cost of hemodialysis, patients miss procedures and come to it terribly heavy and swollen, and some are forced to abandon procedures and are doomed to death.

Chairwoman of hemodialysis patients community of Kyrgyzstan Venera Tashmanbetova

«I explained the situation to the Prime Minister. We ask 68 million soms, but it is obvious that this will not be enough. Two months after the end of queue, we will again have to ask, because tomorrow there will be new patients. We understand that there are many other needy patients, for example, children with congenital heart defects, there are many problems in pediatric oncology and other categories of patients. We can not provide everyone one hundred percent,» Health Minister Talantbek Batyraliev said.

It was noted that Batken region is not covered with hemodialysis services at all. Officials are looking for investors or local sponsors to solve this problem.
