A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, who has been wanted for 10 years, was detained in St. Petersburg (Russia). Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The representative office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation received operative information about a Kyrgyzstani, who was hiding from law enforcement agencies for the crime committed in the homeland. He was a native of Jalal-Abad region, 49.
As it turned out, he was wanted for misappropriation or embezzlement of entrusted property. The criminal case was initiated by the prosecutor’s office of Bazar-Korgon district in 2008.
He was detained on March 21 and placed in the pretrial detention center. Currently, the issue of his extradition is being decided in accordance with the Minsk Convention.
