Unknown persons caught a gray barred owl, listed in the Red Book. The press service of the State Ecological Inspectorate reported.
The bird was found during a raid. The villagers kept the rare bird in terrible conditions. Its legs were tied up with wire. Inspectors have drawn up a protocol. The owl was treated and released.
The press service recalled that keeping wild animals at home, in addition to an administrative fine, entails also a criminal punishment.
