30,000 children to be left without allowances in 2018

The government proposed to postpone the entry into force of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic On State Benefits for three months — until April 1, 2018. The document was considered today at a meeting of the Parliament.

«We want to conduct a full analysis within three months. The fact is that 30,000 children will leave the list of beneficiaries during 2018. They mostly live in low-income families with one or two children above 3 years old,» said the Minister of Labor and Social Development Taalaykul Isakunova.

Provisions relating to the payment of a one-time allowance at the birth of a child (suyunchu) will be left in force. According to the law, suyunchu will amount to 4,000 soms, in high-mountainous areas — more.

It is proposed to postpone payment of a monthly allowance of 700 soms for every child up to 3 years and a monthly allowance for citizens (families) with three or more children between the ages of 3 and 16 (for the third and subsequent children).

Deputy Altynbek Sulaimanov stressed that «the law is wrong.» Rich Kyrgyz citizens, in his opinion, should not receive payments.

The Ministry should be given a term — not three months, but six months. If they can not cope with the task, it is necessary to disband this agency. Otherwise, what are they doing there?
