Kyrgyzstan looses its position in Doing Business ranking

Kyrgyzstan has lost its position in the Doing Business ranking, dropping two lines down. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the latest World Bank data, Kyrgyzstan ranked 77th in Doing Business 2018 rankings among the world’s 190 countries. Previously, the republic occupied the 75th place of the rating.

At the same time, the indicator «Resolving Insolvency» significantly improved: an increase of 11 positions for the year. The improvement is cuased by the amendments to the Law on Bankruptcy adopted in May.

«Registration of property» remained unchanged, but retains the leading position in the world — 8th place among 190 countries.

Indicators «Connection to electrical networks», «International trade» and «Taxation» have worsened.

In general, the positions of all the countries of the EEU, in addition to Russia, which ranked 35th in the world, worsened. The next is Kazakhstan. Armenia is at the 47th place, Belarus — the 38th. Uzbekistan and Tajikistan occupy 74th and 123rd places.

New Zealand takes the first place in the ranking for the second year in a row.
