Head of the human rights organization Tursunbek Akun at a press conference in 24.kg news agency expressed the wish that the President Almazbek Atambayev, after leaving the post of the head of state, remained the leader of the nation, who will unite all layers of society.
According to him, he has only two friends — Almazbek Atambayev and Omurbek Tekebayev.
«Atambayev is leaving, and Tekebayev is in jail, so I have to support a friend... Oh no, I decided to support Sooronbay Jeenbekov,» said Tursunbek Akun.
Explaining why he decided to support Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Tursunbek Akun said that he knew him «since his study at the Agricultural Institute, and since then he has not changed, he has remained the same as he was in his youth, despite the fact that he held high posts.»
In his speech, Tursunbek Akun praised the current president for organizing the World Nomad Games, construction of an alternative North-South road and other achievements and asked the head of state to show generosity and forgive Omurbek Tekebayev.
