Deadline for submitting bidding proposals for CASA 1000 project extended

The deadline for submitting bidding proposals for CASA 1000 project was extended until October 23, 2017. Press service of National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan JSC informed 24.kg news agency.

 Recall, the project secretariat in Almaty on July 22, 2017 announced an international tender for the supply and installation of power transmission lines and the expansion of relevant cells in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

 Initially, it was announced that the bids are accepted until September 22, 2017, however, as the press service of the power company told, potential participants asked to extend the deadline for applications, due to the fact that the preparation of tender documents takes a long time.

 Note of National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan JSC. CASA 1000 project (Central Asia-South Asia 1,000 megawatts) involves the construction of a high-voltage transmission line linking the energy systems of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan with Afghanistan and Pakistan for the export of electricity by the Central Asian countries.

 The total cost of the project is more than $ 1 billion. Kyrgyzstan will spend $ 233 million, Tajikistan - $ 270 million, Afghanistan - $ 300 million and Pakistan - $ 200 million of the sum.
