Bishkek Declaration project approved on forum on preservation of snow leopard

Today, at the International Forum on Snow Leopard Conservation, the project of the Bishkek Declaration was approved at an expert level.

As Deputy Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry Nurlan Zhumayev told 24.kg news agency, on August 2 and 3, 2017 the draft of the Bishkek Declaration was discussed and agreed upon. In addition, through official channels it was sent to the countries participating in the forum for making suggestions and comments.

There were no proposals and comments, and today the draft was accepted at the expert level," Nurlan Zhumayev said.

The key points are the strengthening of the declaration adopted in Bishkek in 2013 and the involvement of business communities that care about environmental issues.

Recall, the International Forum on the Conservation of Snow Leopard and Its Ecosystems is taking place in Bishkek. Delegates from Russia, China, India, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan take part in it.
