Kyrgyzstan offers to mark Day of National Clothes

The Day of National Clothes is being offered to be marked in Kyrgyzstan. Amendments to the resolution of the Parliament were submitted for public discussion.

The initiator of the document, MP Ainuru Altybaeva, recalls: from March 5, 2016, the Day of Ak Kalpak is celebrated. «However, women’s headgear and overall Kyrgyz clothing are not given enough attention. In connection with the announcement 2017 the Year of Morality, Education and Culture, the propaganda of Kyrgyz national clothes is necessary, which will help to educate the modern youth in the spirit of patriotism," the deputy noted.

Ainuru Altybaeva believes that the draft resolution will have a beneficial effect on the domestic light industry and tourism in Kyrgyzstan. It will also give impetus to domestic fashion designers to develop a unique and luxurious nomadic style of Kyrgyz national clothes.

Earlier, the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism suggested holding a week of traditional culture in the second week of October not to mark the days of ak kalpak, elechek, komuz, yurts and so on separately.
