Bishkek to host peaceful march in memory of victims of traffic accidents

Bishkek will host a peaceful march in memory of the victims of traffic accidents. One of the initiators of the march Nurilya Chekirova informed 24.kg news agency.

According to her, the march is scheduled for May 28. The route is coordinated with the mayor’s office.

«We plan to gather at 11.00 in the Gorky Park and move to the Old Square. We think that at least 1,000 people will participate in the peaceful march. We’ll march silently, shouting nothing, we will have posters and one banner on which everyone can write the name of a person injured in traffic accident," Nurilya Chekirova said.

She added that the organizers want to draw attention of the public to the frequent accidents on the roads and show the drivers that the traffic rules must be observed. «We will deliberately march slowly to show the drivers that there is no need to hurry," said Nurilya Chekirova.
