Alternative road North – South in Kyrgyzstan built on new technology

Laying of asphalt concrete pavement on the alternative North — South road is conducted using the new technology, used in Kyrgyzstan for the first time. As a result, the service life of the road will increase one and a half times. The Minister of Transport and Roads Zhamshitbek Kalilov told the Prime Minister Sooronbay Zheenbekov during his working visit.

According to the information department of the government, the head of the Cabinet inspected a section of the road in the village of Sary-Kamysh in Jumgal district.

«The first phase — the construction of 154 km for $ 400 million of loan funds, allocated by the Export-Import Bank of China, is completed. Today, in the area of ​ Aral village of Jumgal district, the Chinese corporation China Road is conducting construction within the second phase of the project," the Minister of Transport and Roads said.

According to him, construction is ahead of schedule, at the moment there are no problems with financing.

«The construction of an alternative road is of great importance in strengthening the transport independence of the country and in facilitating internal and external transport communication. In the future, the road will be the impetus for the development of the economy," Sooronbay Jeenbekov said.
