Batken Electric Grid Enterprise, a branch of National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan OJSC (NENK), will install 54,587 smart electricity meters across the region in 2026, the company’s press service reported.
The project is being implemented with the support of the World Bank. Its main objective is to modernize the energy sector, transition to digital management, and ensure the efficient use of electricity.
The distribution of the new metering devices by district is as follows:
- Sulyukta RES — 15,193
- Kadamzhai RES — 14,530
- Leilek RES — 14,105
- Kyzyl-Kiya RES — 10,150
The Batken Electric Grid Enterprise currently serves 130,668 consumers, including 121,149 residential consumers and 9,519 non-residential customers.
In 2024–2025, specialists installed 62,085 smart meters in the region. Power engineers have fully equipped the city of Batken and Batken district with smart metes, as well as Kyzyl-Kiya.
