Air pollution in Bishkek: Capital ranks second on December 23

As of 5:45 p.m., Bishkek ranked second in the World Air Quality rating of the world’s largest cities.

The city’s air quality status was listed as «very unhealthy.» According to the website, the Air Quality Index (AQI) stands at 233. The data is available in real time.

The AQI is divided into six categories indicating increasing levels of health concern. An AQI value above 300 is considered hazardous, while a value below 50 indicates good air quality.
