The Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan reports that a favorable wholesale price for potatoes for farmers is registered in the country. No further price increases are expected, officials promise.
Farmers are urged to take advantage of the moment and sell their potato stocks now, making a good profit. The wholesale price of potatoes is over 40 soms per kilogram.
«To date, the retail price of potatoes in the republic’s markets fluctuates between 35 and 65 soms. Potato prices will not rise. The ministry also warns that since new potatoes will appear in May and will be sold, this may lead to reduction of prices,» the statement says.
As of April 14, 2025, a total of 8,298 tons of potatoes have been imported into the country, while approximately 16,000 tons have been exported. All products undergo full laboratory testing.
