An attempt to smuggle a large batch of medicines from Tajikistan to Kyrgyzstan was prevented in the border area of Kara-Bak village in Batken region. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.
The owner of the goods is a local resident — a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic Y.K.U., who had in possession 4,500 units of five types of Indian-made medicines (Plastomet-50, Candiblotic, Herpinize-250, Herpinize-500, Galcyclovir), allegedly intended for cancer treatment and post-transplant organ protection.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 231 «Economic smuggling» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
