A meeting was held in the Cabinet of Ministers to discuss the transition to the 12-year school education system. The meeting was attended by the President, experts, leaders of the Ministry of Education and Science, and other relevant officials.

According to Kamchybek Tashiev, Sadyr Japarov expressed concerns, highlighted the risks, and decided that the transition to 12-year school education would be introduced gradually.

«Education is a sphere that affects every Kyrgyzstani and determines the country’s future. Naturally, such large-scale changes should always go through public discussion, and the presence of different opinions is quite natural. Only open dialogue and constructive discussion can lead us to quality decisions,» he emphasized.

Kamchybek Tashiev believes that 12-year education is not just an additional year, but an opportunity to improve the quality of school education, expand specialized training, improve teacher qualifications, and align school curricula with global standards.
