The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission recommended the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to take into account the maps of joint Eurasian tourist routes in order to expand economic cooperation in the field of tourism and develop the tourism services market. The EEC reported.
According to its data, the maps were created based on proposals from the participating countries and include information on 419 Eurasian tourist sites, 38 routes, and modes of travel.
The recommendation stipulates that the maps will be taken into account when working on the expansion of cooperation in the field of tourism and development of the tourism services market. In addition, the countries will be able to make proposals for subsequent updating of the maps.
According to the Director of EEC Business Development Department, Yernar Bakenov, the route maps will allow tourists to easily and conveniently plan their trips to the EAEU countries, and will also contribute to the development of tourism infrastructure and an increase in tourist flow.
«Development of tourism in the EAEU has great potential. The participating countries have a rich cultural and historical heritage, unique natural sites. Our recommendation will enable to combine efforts in developing tourism in the EAEU countries, creating new opportunities for travel and expanding tourism services markets,» he said.
