President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with Sheikh Salah bin Muhammad Al-Budair, the Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina (Saudi Arabia). The press service of the President reported.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of religious education and strengthening spiritual ties.
The head of state thanked Saudi Arabia for supporting citizens of Kyrgyzstan, including pilgrims and labor migrants. He noted that 6,000 Kyrgyzstanis perform the hajj every year, and more than 50,000 perform the Umrah.
Sheikh Salah bin Muhammad Al-Budair thanked the President for the reception and conveyed greetings from the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud.
During the meeting, he emphasized that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia is aimed at developing interaction in the fields of education, healthcare, religion and charity. The Sheikh also noted the importance of exchanging experience and expressed confidence that his visit would strengthen ties between the peoples of the two countries and create a basis for future joint projects.
