Russia increased direct investment in Kyrgyzstan by 24 percent — Russian Embassy

Russia increased direct investment in Kyrgyzstan by 24 percent. The Russian Embassy in Bishkek reported on its Telegram channel.

According to the results of the first six months of 2024, the volume of foreign direct investments (FDI) from Russia to the Kyrgyz Republic increased by 24.2 percent, compared to the same period last year and amounted to $108.3 million, the statement says.

The Russian Federation accounted for almost a quarter of the total FDI inflow to Kyrgyzstan. The total volume of FDI for January-June of this year is $462.2 million (+7.7 percent).

The main volume of FDI is directed to manufacturing enterprises (36.5 percent), wholesale and retail trade (18.6 percent), mining (14.5 percent), financial intermediation and insurance (11.4 percent), information technology and communications (6.2 percent).

The majority of FDI was made in Bishkek (49.6 percent), as well as Chui region (20.9 percent), Jalal-Abad (14.2 percent) and Talas (11 percent).

The main investor countries were China, Russia and Turkey.
