Official detained in Osh for attempt to bribe SCNS employee

An official has been detained in Osh region for attempting to give a State Committee for National Security employee $20,000. The press center of the the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.

The head of Savai rural area of Kara-Suu district, Osh region was previously the head of Jany-Aryk rural area, where, abusing his official position, illegally registered land plots for individual construction and commercial use in Jany-Aryk village to front persons.

He tried to give a bribe of $20,000 in order to avoid criminal liability. The official was detained and placed in the pretrial detention center of the SCNS. The investigation is ongoing.
