Key task in EAEU - to introduce single standard for customs operations

The key task in the EAEU is to introduce a single standard for customs operations. The Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Ruslan Davydov said on the sidelines of the XV International Scientific and Practical Conference «10 years of the Eurasian Economic Union: Transformation of Customs Administration Model».

Work on amendments to the Customs Code of the EAEU is planned to be completed by May 2025, he noted.

According to the minister, thanks to the close interaction of the EEC and the customs services of the EAEU countries, over the ten years of the union’s operation, significant progress has been made in implementing the norms of the Treaty on the EAEU and unifying customs administration.

«I hope that in the near future — we set ourselves the goal of the next six months — we should be able to complete work on amendments to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union. By that time, all technical work should be completed,» he said.

Ruslan Davydov named the introduction of a single standard for customs operations in the EAEU as a key task for the near future. The work on implementation of such priority areas and projects as unification of work on customs value control, introduction of the use of electronic navigation seals, regulation of multimodal transportation and improvement of the Customs Code of the EAEU will be aimed at solving this task.
