President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a visit. The press service of the head of state reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of regional security, stability and interaction within the CSTO.
Sadyr Japarov expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the command and staff exercises Interaction-2024 in Balykchy, in which the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces participated. He emphasized the importance of these exercises for improving interaction in the military-political sphere, noting the successful development of joint actions to strengthen security and defense capability.
The president also added that the Kyrgyz Republic is determining priorities for the CSTO chairmanship in 2025.
Imangali Tasmagambetov thanked the leadership of Kyrgyzstan for the high-quality preparation of the exercises, noting the increased readiness of the CSTO Collective Forces to respond to security challenges and threats.
