Kumtor donates backpacks with stationery to 400 schoolchildren

Kumtor Gold Company has provided assistance to schoolchildren from low-income families by donating 400 backpacks with stationery to children from Issyk-Kul region. The company reported.

The schoolchildren from Issyk-Kul, Tyup, Ak-Suu, Jeti-Oguz, Ton districts, as well as Karakol and Balykchy, received the gifts.

In addition, at the request of Jeti-Oguz district education department, the company purchased three interactive whiteboards with projectors for schools in Kyzyl-Suu village, Lenin No. 153, Gaparov No. 98 and Abdrakmanov No. 158.

Support for education is an important part of the charitable activities of Kumtor Gold Company, and its initiative has become an expected event for many families.

This year, the company also invested in the construction and modernization of educational institutions.

Kindergartens for 40 and 120 children were built in Temir-Kanat village in Ton district and Ak-Suu village in Ak-Suu district. They are furnished and equipped. Kumtor also provided financial assistance in the construction of a dormitory for vocational school No. 55 in Barskoon village and its branch for 100 children in Kyzyl-Suu village.

In addition, a mini-football field was built in the school-gymnasium named after Dzhundubaeva in Kochkor district, and an IT class was equipped in the secondary school in Zhany-Zhol village (Naryn region) at the beginning of the year.

Kumtor Gold Company continues to strive to support and develop the country’s educational infrastructure, the company added.
